Notes: Arg-Arg-Trp-Cys-Tyr-Arg-Lys-Cys-Tyr-Lys-Gly-Tyr-Cys-Tyr-Arg-Lys-Cys-Arg-NH2 This peptide showed strong anti-human immunodeficiency virus activity in HIV-infected MT-4 cells (IC50= 2.6 nM) similar to that of AZT (3'-azido-2',3'-dideoxythymidine) (IC50= 5.2 nM). This peptide exhibits strong anti-HIV activity. It exerts its effect by blocking virus-cell fusion process through binding to both gp120 and CD4.
